Welcome to the News Stan(d). My name is Anna and I serve as Editor in Chief. I started as a street team member in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, back when Clubhouse was still popular, and joined the editorial team during the summer of 2021. I am so thrilled to have you with us. Our team has been working tirelessly to create a platform relating to all things music and fandom. Do you want to learn about why resale prices for concert tickets are so high? We got you. Do you want to read up on why it is now considered cool to read wattpad and AO3 fan fictions? We’ll be talking through the recent shift in logic. Are you new to fandom and are feeling overwhelmed by stan twitter? We’ll break it down for you. And of course, we’ll keep you up to date on all new music and rising artists.

The News Stan(d) has gone through several iterations and I have been lucky enough to be a part of them all. As a former staff writer, the blog’s content has always centered around fans. Whether we published artist interviews, concert reviews, or long form articles exploring niche topics within the industry, the fan perspective remained at the forefront of our work.

Now, with this new iteration of the blog, our mission stays the same. Fan to Band understands the importance and value of the fan perspective and The News Stan(d) will amplify the voices of fans everywhere. We believe it is imperative to collectively organize against the frequently patriarchal and misogynistically framed notion that participating in fandom is driven by hysteria rather than intelligence, passion, and hard work. Fans know better than anyone how to help their favorites succeed. We are here to create spaces that serve as a platform for those voices to be heard.

Now, it is my distinct pleasure to introduce to you the rest of the editorial staff:

Hey! My name is Roshni and I serve as Lead Blog Editor for the News Stan(d)! We are so excited to have you with us, as we break down every aspect of being a fan. I started as a Fan to Band Street Team member in early 2021, eager to find a community where I could obsess over Harry Styles and express my love for One Direction freely and without judgment - and like many others, I quickly figured out that my passions aren’t meant to be shamefully hidden away, but instead, should be celebrated. Fan to Band is a platform to showcase and advocate the fan perspective and, by extension, The News Stan(d) is here to do the same. We can’t wait to show you everything we have planned to help you navigate fandom and the fan life at every step of your fan journey.

Hi, I’m Ariel and I am an Editor for the Fan To Band Blog. When I found Fan to Band a year ago, my first thought was, “I finally found my people.” I finally found a place where I can write and express my inner fangirl self. Through Fan To Band, I was able to see how years of obsessing over One Direction, BTS, and pop music, could help me professionally. The experience you have as a fan is something that is valuable, marketable, and just fun. Fan to Band is the place to be a fan and to express yourself. We hope to make this a FAN-tasic experience for you!

We are beyond thrilled to have you join us on this ride!

In fandom forever,

The News Stan(d) team
