The News Stan(d)’s Festival Lineup

By Anna Billy, Kya Brogdon, and Tara Demers | 19 March, 2024

With every announcement that has been made this new year, The News Stan(d) only grows more excited for the 2024 festival season. We can’t wait for what the warmer weather will bring. We long to run from one set to another, seeing as many of our favorite artists as possible. We ache for the community that comes with festival season: planning itineraries for each day, coordinating outfits on theme for each festival, and meeting up with friends and fans of the artists. Most of all we are itching for summer, desperate to stand shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other people screaming the lyrics to our favorite songs.

In no particular order, find a list of festivals we are most excited for:

On May 24-26, 2024, be sure to catch artists like Ed Sheeran, Megan Thee Stallion, The Kid Laroi, T-Pain, and Bebe Rexha on stage as you enjoy the food, wine, and brew in the beautiful Napa Valley.

Start your summer in May with a ticket to Hangout Fest, scheduled for the weekend of the 17th. Join artists like Zach Bryan, Cage the Elephant, Reneé Rap, Chappell Roan, A Day To Remember, and Flyana Boss on the beaches of the Gulf Shores of Alabama and slip into that summer feeling.

Need plans for Memorial Day weekend? Well, now you have them. Head out to Boston Calling and enjoy performances from artists like Ed Sheeran, Reneé Rapp, Luke Hemmings, The Killers, and Hozier the weekend of May 24th. This is a line up you won’t want to miss.

Need something a little earlier in May? Head to Atlanta the weekend of the 3rd and catch artists like Noah Kahan, Arcade Fire, Weezer, Girl in Red, Quarters of Change, Portugal. The Man, and The Struts take the stage throughout this three day festival.

Are three day festivals still too short for you? Check out Bonnaroo, spanning June 13-16th. Join in on this four day festival with artists like Pretty Lights, Post Malone, Lizzy McAlpine, The Japanese House, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Cigarettes After Sex, Megan Thee Stallion, Carly Rae Jepsen, Taking Back Sunday, and Ashnikko - there is sure to be some sets that you don’t want to miss.

Celebrating 25 years of Kilby Court, join in on this party May 10-12th and watch artists like Vampire Weekend, Wu-Tang Clan, Death Cab For Cutie, 100 Gecs, TV Girl, and Peach Pit take the stage and show off just how powerful live music is.

Something to look forward to for later in the year, Hinterland is slotted in during the first weekend of August. With artists like Hozier, Noah Kahan, Hippo Campus, Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners, Chappell Roan, and The Last Dinner Party, this festival is sure to keep the live music vibe of the early summer going strong.

Need something a little shorter? Just Like Heaven is a one day festival at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, but the shorter length does not equate to a less stacked line up. Join artists like Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Two Door Cinema Club, and Tegan and Sara and celebrate live music with fellow fans.

This one is for all of the former emo kids. Make sure to catch stellar performances by artists like My Chemical Romance, Dashboard Confessional, Simple Plan, MayDay Parade, Fall Out Boy, Pierce The Veil, The All-American Rejects, 3OH!3, and Hey Monday on October 19th and 20th. Performing some of their most iconic albums, this is sure to be a festival you don’t want to miss.

Coachella kicks off festival season the weekends of April 12th and April 19th. With a lineup spanning across a multitude of genres, there is sure to be an artist for everyone attending. Join artists like Tyler, The Creator, Doja Cat, ATEEZ, Sabrina Carpenter, Ice Spice, Jon Batiste, LE SSERAFIM, Hatusne Miku, The Rose, Coi Leray, and ATARASHII GAKKO! and start off your festival season the right way.

Gov Ball is back! Head over to NYC June 7-9 for The Governors Ball 2024 and enjoy performances from artists like Post Malone, Dominic Fike, Alex G, 21 Savage, Sabrina Carpenter, P1Harmony, Quarters of Change, SZA, and Victoria Monét in the beautiful Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
