Every music lover has probably created dozens of playlists that match your experiences, emotions, and different stages of life. We decided to take an astrology twist on that. Here’s a breakdown of the perfect song suggestions to add to those playlists dedicated to your zodiac signs. (For extra fun, check out the songs dedicated to your moon, rising, and venus placements! Descriptions of zodiac sun signs are provided by Costar Astrology.

Aries Sun (March 20 - April 19) — Good As Hell by Lizzo

At their core, Aries do things their own way. They are unafraid of conflict, highly competitive, and honest. They throw themselves at the world eagerly and without fear.

This Lizzo track is fiery, confident, and effortlessly bad-ass. An Aries approaches life with hunger and determination, and the upbeat, spunky sound of this song is sure to give Aries listeners a bump in their step.

Aries, you’re a star; go on touch the sky.

Taurus Sun (April 20 - May 20) — Sweet Creature by Harry Styles

Tauruses have a regal quality about them. They are graceful and diligent laborers. They can be stubborn, bull-headed, and set in their ways, but they are also great listeners and very dependable.

Dependable, comforting, and headstrong – all the adjectives that encapsulate Tauruses and the lyrics to Sweet Creature. “We’re both stubborn, I know / But oh, sweet creature, sweet creature / Wherever I go / You bring me home.”

Taurus, you’re a grounding and reassuring presence.

Gemini Sun (May 21 - June 20) — Electric Feel by MGMT

Geminis are very intelligent and pick up knowledge quickly. They are perceptive, analytical, and often very funny. They have an unreserved childlike curiosity, always asking new questions.

This electric tune is how I imagine the curiosity flowing through Geminis. Its groovy lyrics and high-pitched vocals encapsulate the sensation of being fascinated and in awe. Never stop seeking answers to your curiosity.

Cancer Sun (June 21 - July 21) — Supercut by Lorde

The self awareness of a Cancer is like the tides – constantly moving in and out of focus. Their personalities are layered. Cancers have many moods, some of which are contradictory, but they also have a deep, core self that persists.

Instantly, tides made me think of a supercut, so what better song than this. “All the stages and the stars / I turn all of it to just a supercut.” This aligns with the constant shifting moods and emotional experiences of Cancers.

Leo Sun (July 22 - August 22) — Primadonna by MARINA

Leos inject ambition into everything they do. They are ruled by the heart. Their actions are natural and effortless because they are brash, confident and trust their instincts.

The ultimate flamboyant and self-assured anthem for Leo, Leo’s ambition ties into the lyrics, “All I ever wanted was the world / I can’t help that I need it all.” Leo, you are larger than life. A true Primadonna girl.

Virgo Sun (August 23 - September 22) — WTF Do I Know by Miley Cyrus

Virgos are perfectionists. They are known for their attention to detail, which helps them find patterns where there are none. At times, Virgos can be finicky and critical to a fault.

Virgos always keep it real and Miley gets to the nitty gritty with this one. The deep bass and gravelly vocals create an intense and intimidating listening experience that mimics the critical observations of a Virgo.

Libra Sun (September 23 - October 22) — Mirrorball by Taylor Swift

Libras are difficult to really understand because they seem so contradictory. They’re simultaneously extroverted and introverted, strategic and spontaneous, focused and intuitive. This variability makes it difficult to pin down their true character. They are an entire constellation of personalities.

Libra’s take on many personalities and for that alone, “Mirrorball” is the perfect match. “I’m a mirrorball / I’ll show you every version of yourself tonight.”

Scorpio Sun (October 23 - November 21) — Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac

A Scorpio’s personality is a chasm of infinite complexity (or at least how they project themselves). They are difficult people to get to know because they are psychological trap doors… They are intentional about the information they reveal.

Rhiannon is an it-girl. She’s mysterious, evasive, and alluring just like Scorpios are known to be. The song begs the question, “Wouldn’t you love to love her?” alluding to the difficulty of getting Rhiannon to open up and settle in one place.

Sagittarius Sun (November 22 - December 20) — Ain’t It Fun by Paramore

Sagittarians are the ultimate empiricists. They will always choose principles over feelings and will often question who they are. They are explorers of the human condition and are unafraid of change. At their core, they want to understand how the world works.

Growing up and embracing the changes that come with adulthood is no easy task, but Sagittarians seem to navigate the world more openly. This song mentions how life in the real world is different from the bubbles we grow up in, essentially learning and understanding how the world works.

Capricorn Sun (December 21 - January 19) — La Lune by Billie Marten

Capricorns are masters of discipline. The wringing of the hands, the constant reminders, the exacting structure, the ever-increasing goals, the tidal wave of self-criticism that lasts forever. They are the ultimate perfectionists.

As a Capricorn, I can confirm (unfortunately) that the self-criticism and perfectionist tendencies run deep. Part of being overly self-critical and pursuing perfection is dwelling on difficult experiences and feelings. For this reason, the lyrics “But I’m good at hiding in the dead and grey / But time after time, I’ve been people I’m not” make La Lune an (admittedly sad) choice for Capricorn’s theme song.

Aquarius Sun (January 20 - February 17) — San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Some Flowers in Your Hair) by Scott McKenzie

Aquarians are always running little tests. They live their lives as one big science experiment, shattering traditional perspectives with their complete disregard for convention. They are martyrs to the cause of humanity. Freedom is their only demand.

To match Aquarians’ funky and unconventional vibe, this song was an obvious choice. It’s all about the uniqueness and otherworldly experience of meeting people in San Francisco. Aquarius, you are those gentle and strange vibrational people.

Pisces Sun (February 18 - March 19) — Rom-Com Gone Wrong by Matt Maltese

Most of the qualities usually associated with Pisces (dreaminess, emotionality, imagination) are internal processes that are difficult to observe from the outside. Pisces are primarily inward-facing. They are not self-absorbed, but they are absorbed in themselves.

A daydreamer is the epitome of a Pisces. Head in the clouds, enveloped in their own world. “Take trains and watch the weather / This looks nothing like my life really should.” It’s quite common to fall into deep thought in places such as trains or airplanes, or even on walks. The second line of lyrics emphasizes the difference between the dreamy state of mind versus reality.
